Letter Practice Pages for the Whole Year

One of the common ordeals in my classroom is a specific child having troubles with a specific letter. I always have a stack of non-thematic, generic letter practice worksheets to pull out one when I need to provide someone with additional practice with a particular letter.

Then a couple of years ago I made letter practice worksheets for St Patrick's that I ended up using for the next 4 months when I needed  for kids really enjoy them :). When I made the Apple Set students were so excited that they recognize the format but it has different theme so I decided to create thematic ABC worksheets for the whole year that are thematically relevant but familiar.

Letter Coloring Pages - Color the Pattern

Letter coloring pages that have different patterns. Each letter to color has a pattern of its own and a small beginning sound picture to go with it. I made this video for marketing (obviously) but kids saw it and love it and feel inspired to color the patterns themselves.

O is for Octopus

Learning the letters, as anything at early age, is best done through play.

These are some idea for learning the letter O through a sorting game.

The one pictured here is from a set of ABC games, you can find at my TpT store or you can create for yourself.

Spring Writing Idea & Empathy

Spring Writing Prompts
How long does it take to teach empathy?
How long does it take to learn to be kind?
These are obviously not a single lesson topics so I take every opportunity I can to help my kids along the journey of becoming more emphatic and aware human beings.

Some time ago I had a very simple Spring Writing Center idea which end up not only being a huge success as a writing activity but it also initiated an interesting discussion. It was just spring themed animals (+a cloud and a snowman) with thought bubbles to prompt kids use their imagination to write what the animals are thinking. Simple enough but then the questions began.

Christmas Around the World

Christmas Around the World Passport
It's the most wonderful time of the year!...
And especially if you have not so many lessons and activities to plan.

Below you can find free and paid resources and links to Christmas Around the World videos, activities, books and more.

I am doing Christmas Around the World for the first year as a homeschool mom.

Every year up to now I've only done Christmas in the English-speaking countries as an ESL teacher.

Christmas Ornaments from Fir Cones and Melted Crayons

The other day we spontaneously made our first (for this year) hand-made ornaments. My daughter found an old piece of jumbo toddle crayons and asked me if we need this anymore (she didn't like her teeth marks on it very much : ). These turned out really pretty (prettier than in the pictures). They are also a fun activity for kids. It is also very good for developing fine motor skills. And they can are a perfect hand-made gift.

Apples Sight Words

Apples Sight Words Tic-Tac-Toe and a Memory  game.

There two games are our all-time favorites. For me for they are easy to set up and I use them to teach ANYTHING. For the kids because they are both fun and not complicated. It may be grammar questions with my older kids, math facts, numbers or in this case - sight words.

Summer No Prep Pack for Kindergarten - Math, Literacy and Science Pages

Summer is nearly here and the summer holiday is almost upon us.
A lot of review is going on and we are looking for the best way to prevent the kids from the summer slide.
I've created a summer no prep pack for my students and my daughter that includes a lot of reading practice, addition and subtraction and some science pages.
